Mobile data plans in Cuba have evolved significantly since ETECSA launched mobile Internet packages in December 2018.
The most recent update took place in May 2025, when ETECSA introduced:
New combined plans (the most affordable option)
Extra data plans in CUP and USD (the most expensive options)
A national recharge limit of 360 CUP every 30 days

Current ways to buy mobile data in Cuba
ETECSA currently offers five main ways to access mobile Internet:
Combined plans (CUP)
Extra data plans in CUP
Extra data plans in USD
ToDus and Nauta app plan
Pay-per-use data
Voice and SMS plans (no data)
Below is a detailed breakdown of each option.
1. Combined data plans (best value)
These are the most affordable and complete plans available.
They include mobile data + minutes + SMS, work on 4G, 3G and 2G networks, and are valid for 35 days from first use.
*Note: On 2G, only calls and SMS work properly. Mobile data is practically unavailable on 2G in Cuba.

How to recharge balance to buy plans
There are three main ways to add balance and buy combined plans:
1. National recharges
Limited to 360 CUP every 30 days
This limit does not affect international recharges or transfers
2. Balance transfers
Up to 3 transfers per day
Max amount per transfer: 500,000 CUP
Cost: 5 CUP per transfer
Deducted from the sender’s main balance
