The only Cuban mobile carrier Cubacel offers a range of additional services designed to help users save and manage their mobile usage based on personal needs. These features are fully self-service—no need to visit an office. You can activate them directly from your phone.

Balance Transfer

Cubacel prepaid users can transfer balance to other Cubacel users using one of two methods:

  • The short way: Type in a single step the following sequence: *234*1*RECIPIENT number*Keycode*Amount to transfer# and use the Call button.

  • The long way: Type *234# and use the Call button. Out of the two options given, you must select option number 1 in order to make a transfer. After this, follow the options shown on screen.

Your personal keycode protects your balance from unauthorized transfers. The default is 1234, but it’s recommended to change it for security 🔐.

A 5 CUP fee is added to the amount transferred, and all transfers are deducted from your main balance (not promotional bonuses).

Limit: You can make up to 3 transfers per day, but can receive an unlimited number—as long as they're from different senders.

Voice and SMS plan

Cubacel offers voice and SMS plans that let you buy minutes and messages using your main balance. These packs are valid for 30 days and help you save based on usage.

Plan Amigos

Plan Amigos lets you add up to 3 frequent contacts to call at reduced national rates:

  • 5 CUP/min from 7:00 a.m. to 10:59 p.m.

  • 2.50 CUP/min from 11:00 p.m. to 6:59 a.m.

There’s a one-time activation fee of 25 CUP, deducted from your main balance.

Balance usage priority

When using your balance, charges are deducted in this order:

  • For calls: promotional bonus → VOICE plan → Plan Amigos → main balance

  • For SMS: promotional bonus → SMS plan → main balance
