What is Nauta Hogar?
Nauta Hogar is ETECSA’s residential Internet service, based on ADSL technology. It allows Cuban households to browse the Internet while using their landline phone at the same time.
The service provides WiFi access through a modem installed in the home and offers different speeds and monthly hour-based plans.
Since its launch in late 2016, Nauta Hogar has become the main form of home Internet access in Cuba. According to official data from December 2024, around 290,000 households currently have this service.
Who can request Nauta Hogar?
ETECSA only offers Nauta Hogar in areas with technical availability. To apply, you must:
Have an active landline phone
Live in an area where the service is commercialized
Have a telephone line suitable for ADSL data transmission
Choose a speed compatible with your home’s wired network capacity
You can express interest in the service by:
Visiting an ETECSA Commercial Office, or
Completing the request form on the Servicios en Línea website
Submitting the form does not mean immediate activation. ETECSA uses these requests to measure demand and will contact you when the service becomes available in your area.
In enabled zones, ETECSA usually calls to confirm that installation is technically possible.
What do you need to activate Nauta Hogar?
1) Purchase the installation kit
Depending on the modem model, the kit costs between 475 and 575 CUP and includes:
ADSL modem
Filters
Required cabling
2) Pay the installation fee
Service activation costs 250 CUP.
3) Have or generate an access account
Nauta Hogar uses a @nauta.com.cu account linked to your landline number.
If you already had a Nauta account with that domain, it will be linked to the service.
If not, ETECSA will assign a new one during installation.
This same account can also be used in WiFi Zones and browsing rooms.

If you choose the 250 CUP plan → the first month is free
If you choose a higher plan → 300 CUP is deducted from the first payment
Unused hours do not roll over to the next month.
Nauta Hogar for self-employed workers (TCP-trabajadores por cuenta propia) “Programadores de Equipos de Cómputo”
ETECSA offers special Internet plans for licensed self-employed Computer Equipment Programmers, both under Nauta Hogar and flat-rate ADSL modalities.

3. Requirements to apply
Applicants must email the following documents to the provincial ETECSA address:
Copy of ID card (both sides)
Copy of tax identification card (both sides)
Fiscal certificate issued by ONAT (with 20 CUP stamp)
Project validation certificate
Signed official service request form (Modelo oficial de solicitud del servicio TCP)
If the landline is not in the applicant’s name: owner authorization
Nauta Hogar Plus (USD): unlimited home Internet
Since late 2024, ETECSA offers Nauta Hogar Plus, the USD-based version of residential Internet.
Unlike CUP plans, it has no hourly limits and uses the same Nauta account already linked to the service.
