Nauta Email is a service provided by ETECSA that allows users to have an email address under the @nauta.cu domain.

It can be used to communicate inside and outside Cuba from WiFi zones, navigation rooms, Nauta Hogar, and mobile phones. The service is linked to Nauta accounts, which are the credentials used to access the Internet in Cuba. These accounts can be permanent, temporary, or Nauta Plus.

Although mobile data usage has reduced its popularity, Nauta email is still widely used for basic communication, official procedures, and local services in Cuba.


Types of Nauta accounts in Cuba

ETECSA offers three main types of Nauta accounts, each with different uses, prices, and access methods.

1. Permanent Nauta account

Allows Internet access from public WiFi zones, navigation rooms, and Nauta Hogar.
It is considered permanent because it does not expire as long as it is recharged periodically.

Account lifecycle

  • 330 days active

  • 30 additional days inactive (recharge only)

  • Total: 360 days per recharge

If the account is not recharged within this period, it may expire.

Prices and usage

Depending on the type of browsing:

  • 12.50 CUP/hour – international browsing

  • 2.50 CUP/hour – national browsing

A permanent Nauta account automatically includes a @nauta.cu email address.

How to activate Nauta email

To activate and use a @nauta.cu email address on your mobile phone, follow these steps.

Requirements

  • Mobile phone compatible with GPRS / 3G / 4G

  • Email app (Android or iOS) or web browser

  • Active Nauta account (international browsing mode)

  • GPRS service enabled on your mobile line

  • Available main balance for data usage

Service costs

  • Email activation: 37.50 CUP

  • Mailbox capacity: 100 MB

  • Maximum email size: 25 MB

Activation steps

  1. You can activate it by visiting an ETECSA commercial office or through the Servicios en Línea app.

  2. Request activation of a Nauta account with mobile email access

  3. Activate mobile email and GPRS services

  4. Your email address will be assigned:
    [email protected]

  5. Configure the account on your phone using the IMAP/SMTP settings provided
    (usually imap.nauta.cu and smtp.nauta.cu)

  6. Send and receive a test email to confirm it works


Using Nauta email on mobile

You can access Nauta email through:
