What does it mean when a recharge is “Under review”?

When a recharge appears as Under review, it means that Fonoma is verifying the payment details before sending the recharge to Cuba. This process helps ensure that every recharge is secure, valid, and delivered correctly.

An Under review status does not mean there is an error or failure. It simply indicates that additional checks are being performed before the payment is fully processed.

Manual review by the Fonoma support team

In some cases, a recharge may enter a manual review process handled by Fonoma’s support team. This happens when certain payment or user details need to be confirmed before approving the transaction.

The sole purpose of this review is to protect your payment and ensure the recharge is applied correctly.

Information that may be requested during review

If your recharge is under review, Fonoma may ask you to provide additional information, such as:

  • Full name

  • Address

  • Phone number of the person sending the recharge (the payment method holder)

This information is used only for verification purposes and is handled under strict data protection and privacy policies.

Information that may be requested during review

Confirmation call from the support team

Once you submit the requested information, our team may contact you by phone to complete the verification.

  • The call is made within a maximum of 6 hours after the recharge enters review.

  • If we cannot reach you, we will attempt up to two additional calls at different times.

  • If verification cannot be completed after the third attempt, the recharge will be automatically canceled.

If the phone number you provided is incorrect or out of service, you can contact us through your Fonoma account to update your contact details.

Time limits and automatic cancellation

If the requested information is not received within 24 hours of the review starting, the recharge will be canceled due to incomplete verification.

You can resend the information or attach it directly from your Recharge History in Fonoma.

Manual review by the Fonoma support team

If you decide not to continue with the verification process, remember to cancel the recharge manually before it is approved.

Security and privacy guarantee

  • The information requested during review is never shared with third parties.

  • Fonoma only initiates this process in exceptional cases, strictly to protect users and the platform.

Most common reasons a recharge goes under review

A recharge may be flagged for review for several reasons, usually related to payment security or data validation:

  • Bank or PayPal review: some financial institutions automatically review international or unusual transactions.

  • Temporary connection issues: a brief disconnection during payment confirmation may pause the transaction.

  • Anti-fraud checks: Fonoma uses automated systems to prevent misuse or duplicate transactions.

  • Manual review by Fonoma: in specific cases, a support agent verifies the transaction to ensure it is legitimate.

Important: Do not attempt to repeat the same recharge unless you are sure the previous one was not completed. Sending multiple recharges by mistake can result in duplicate deliveries that cannot be refunded.

What Fonoma does while your recharge is under review

During this process:

  • The payment is temporarily held by the bank or payment processor.

  • Fonoma verifies the transaction details (number/account, amount, and payment method).

  • Once approved, the recharge is sent automatically and credited as usual.

  • You will receive a confirmation email when the recharge is completed.

In most cases, the review takes only a few minutes. In rare situations, it may take longer depending on your bank, payment method, or the need for direct contact by support.

What to do if the review takes too long

If your recharge has been under review for more than 30 minutes:

  1. Check your email for any notification about the payment status.

  2. Log in to your Fonoma account and see if the recharge shows as Completed or Canceled.

  3. If it remains Under review after one hour, contact our support team by email or via the chat in the lower-right corner of the site.

The Under review status is a security measure designed to protect your payment and ensure your recharge is delivered correctly. At Fonoma, we work to make this process as fast and transparent as possible, always keeping your money safe.
